John D Boison (1917-1973) was born in Pittsfield, MA and enlisted from there into the Army Air Force and serving as a navigator in the South Pacific. After WWII, he went to Syracuse University and received a B.A. and Masters degree in Fine Arts. He would remain in the area, teaching and active as a painter and in the art community for the remainder of his life.
Boison had six one-man shows and has shown in many national and regional exhibits. Starting 1958, he won 18 art awards. His paintings are represented in many important collections in the US and abroad.
