I found this signed etching by George W. Bohde inside another very old framed piece of art that my grandparents had hanging in their living room for years. They brought the art over from Scotland in the 1950’s. Recently, I opened that framed piece up to remove the art so my sister can roll it up and take it with her without the frame and glass. Much to my surprise, this VERY DELICATE signed G. W. Bohde print was tucked between the art on display and the old wood sheets at the back. The paper is extremely delicate and has taken on the impression of the wood it was up against on the back. The etching is from the 1890’s. Showing edge paper wear and some yellowing and discoloration. A beautiful and surprising signed find. Measures 28.5” X 19” unframed. I will certainly consider a reasonable offer.
