An oil on canvasboard painting of Ithaca Falls.
It's in excellent, clean condition presented in a new wood frame measuring 16 1/2" high by 11" wide.
The painting is attributed to the important 19th century artist Daniel Folger Bigelow (1823-1910).
Bigelow was born in Peru, NY. He moved to Chicago in 1858, there winning considerable reputation as a landscape painter and becoming one of the associates of G. P. A. Healy and the group of artists who founded the Chicago Academy of Design, later to be called the Chicago Art Institute. Many of his landscape subjects were taken from trips throughout New York and New England.
