Antique Rare Ottoman Musket. A type popular in rumelia (now bulgaria. ) the elegant hardwood stock with flared butt evocative of 17th century forms, and elaborately carved overall, with applied profiled metal comb. The unusual percussion lock with finely-formed hammer and highly-engraved lockplate. The long, narrow heirloom octagonal fowling barrel, so popular in the balkans, retained to the stock with brass bands. Mid-19th century. Well worn overall. Overall length 136cm.
