Add this museum piece to your man cave. Believed to be a vintage 1900 New Guinea native weapon set. Shield shows damage likely from combat. Provenance from WW-II soldier returning from duty.
Shield is 43” X 12”, Atalatal is 37”, and the bird dart (round ball head) measures 36”, the chisel mammal point 28”, and a long needle point measures 40”.
There is also a flattened 42” device that is of uncertain use, specialty dart or sword.
This is from the same place where Michael Rockefeller, the son of New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller, who disappeared in 1961 in Dutch New Guinea, which is now part of Indonesia's South Papua province. After his boat capsized, he swam to shore and was later killed and eaten by members of the Asmat tribe!
