I am looking for A retired electronics engineer, experienced hobbyist, or part-time circuit designer who enjoys teaching in the Syracuse, NY area.
The Role:
Teach basic electronic design for small, practical electronics – hands-on, one-on-one, in person.
This is not a production job; it’s a teaching / mentoring role focused on helping someone learn the fundamentals of designing their own simple circuits.
Topics to cover (beginner-friendly but practical):
Reading and drawing simple schematics
Choosing components (resistors, caps, transistors, LEDs, sensors)
Prototyping on breadboards and perfboards
Introduction to PCB design (optional, but a plus)
Basic troubleshooting with a multimeter
Format:
One-on-one sessions
Flexible schedule (evenings/weekdays possible)
In person in the Syracuse area
Materials/tools can be provided or discussed
Ideal candidate:
Has practical experience designing small, working circuits
Can explain concepts without jargon overload
Patient, clear, and enjoys teaching beginners
Retired or hobbyist status perfectly fine – no formal degree required if you know your stuff
