The 2017 Geneva Bee Conference will be held Saturday, March 18th from 9am-5pm on Hobart and William Smith's Scandling Campus, in the Vandervort Room. 300 Pulteney Street, Geneva, NY 14456. Pre-registration is suggested as last year we sold out prior to the event and were not able to take walk-ins the day of.

We'll have 2 main speakers this year: Dr. Dewey Caron and Master Beekeeper Kent Williams. They will be talking about a variety of different topics relevant to our area. We'll also be having several break out sessions this year including Master Beekeeper Frank Licata from Mann Lake. We will also be having a beekeeping panel in the afternoon.

We'll be doing several large raffles, silent auction, door prizes, a honey swap, photo contest and a buffet lunch. We will also be doing an Evening Social at Wicked Water which is an Urban Farm Winery in Geneva NY. We'll have hor dourves at the winery along with a wine tasting as well as non-alcoholic beverages. There will also be several beekeeping vendors on site at the conference. Vendors are welcome but pre-registration for vendors is required.

Conference price: $40 per person, buffet lunch is included. On-line registration is now open. The Evening Social is $20 per person,

About the Conference:
The GBC started out in 2008 as a joint meeting, held in mid-February, between two area beekeeper's organizations -- the Ontario-Finger Lakes Beekeepers Association and the Finger Lakes Beekeeper's Club. National speakers were invited to speak at the joint meetings and other clubs were invited to enjoy the talks and to meet fellow beekeepers. Since 2010, the conference has been held at Hobart and William Smith Colleges located in Geneva, New York on the shores of Seneca Lake.

In 2011, the joint meetings were officially given a name (and a mascot!), as well as a new campus venue, and moved to a different month to make it easier for people to attend.

In 2016, the conference got some more improvements. We provided lunch for a small cost, had 2 break out sessions and an evening social at a local winery. Everyone had a great time at the 2016 conference.

2017 should prove to be a fantastic conference, be sure you do not miss it!
