Earnest received 60 days of training in the spring and has been sitting since. He is a project and will need a complete restart under saddle as he is not confident with a rider above him. He is however dead broke/ dog gentle on the ground. Video is us pulling him out of the pasture & saddling him after sitting for months, and lunging him while his buddies all watched. He ground drives/ lunges great/ is desensitized on the ground/ trailers great/ stands for baths/ great for farrier/ great for blanketing/ fly spray etc. Bottom of the herd/ the horse we throw out with any new horses as he’s instant friends with *anyone*.
Con: He does not like a rider above him/ gets nervous with anyone standing above him (I.e on a fence). Will need advanced rider/ trainer and consistent riding to get him going.
He has an incredibly friendly demeanor and we believe once he gets over his fear that he’ll be a very trustworthy mount. He does have a surface level scar on his rear thigh- 0 affect on soundness and has never taken a lame step with us.
Why are we selling? Time. We are expecting our first child, have been renovating our farm since we purchased and unfortunately will be downsizing on a few horses.
