Great way to add 2 feet of height to a chain link fence - just bolt them on the top rail and zip tie a roll of metal mesh. I have a small dog, and coyotes were coming way too close to my yard, which had a 4' chain link fence on one side that coyotes could easily clear. These extender posts increased the fence to 6', which is not so easy for them to clear. I spray painted the posts to match my black fence and used black metal mesh and black zip ties. I bought enough of the posts to use on another area of my property that was not fenced yet, but decided not to add the fence.
I have 2 boxes with 9 posts in each, all hardware included. They are 27" tip to tip and will accommodate metal mesh that is 24" wide. They are
1 1/4" in diameter and - very important - fit/bolt onto the top rail of a chain link fence that is 1 3/8" in diameter. Each box costs $85 OBO, or $160 OBO if you'd like both boxes.
I have another box with 8 posts, all hardware included, that have hooks on them to accommodate barbed wire, or you can add regular fencing material to the smooth side and use the hooks for plants, etc. The measurements are the same as those described above. This box costs $80 OBO.
