# I have over 30 years experience teaching adults of all ages. My students are adult total beginners, adults who took piano lessons as youngsters, and adults who already play the piano but want to learn how to play the songs of their life in new and creative ways. The ages of my students range from teenagers to 80 yrs old..

.# I give one hour lessons every two weeks. Most piano teachers, who mainly teach kids, have a lesson every week. This works for kids, but I realized decades ago that a lesson every two weeks for adults with work and family obligations was the right amount of time between lessons to find enough time to practice. Most of my students tell me that a lesson every two weeks was one reason why they finally decided to commit to taking lessons.
# I studied traditional classical piano from a teacher who also was a performing pianist in small and large bands. He taught me techniques of how to use chords in different ways in both my left hand and right hand to create my own arrangements of popular songs. I played in piano trios during high school, 4 years of college and 10 years after that. It is this experience that is the foundation of the methods I developed to teach beginning piano students easy versions of their favorite songs.

# I teach beginning students traditional piano playing from a terrific series of music books just for adults. Within a few months we can start learning the easy favorite songs the student chooses.

# I have an enormous library of every style of music of the 20th and 21st century. From the standards of Broadway and the Movies. Beetles, Bacharach and Bossa Nova. Jazz, Blues, Country and Gospel . When I started teaching I wrote easy versions of published songs.for students. Happily the publishing industry has provided an enormous number of chord based music collections from simplified levels to Professional. And I have all of them.Yeah! Really! I find the songs my students want to learn and I .make them copies on card stock and we create together different ways to play these songs My job satisfaction comes from the teaching and then witnessing students enjoy their music and becoming a musician.

My studio is located at Artist Pianos on Celi Drive , off Bridge Street in East Syracuse. Artist Pianos is the Steinway and Kawai dealer for Central New York. If you need a piano , they have a large selection of new and used acoustic and digital pianos to choose from. I teach afternoons and evenings. I try to be as flexible as possible in finding alternate lesson times when you need them .I'd be happy to explain in detail what this chord thing is all about on the phone or in person at my studio by appointment. I need to know more about you and you need to know more about me and my teaching so call me. Call Joe Tringali at 315-425-1754.
