Japanese-made Fender Jazz Bass in very good condition. Manufactured in the FujiGen factory in 2004-2005. This facility produces instruments a cut above the Mexican models, and rivaling some of the American made models. This bass has a couple minor dings here and there, and two more significant paint chips on the back, but is generally in pretty nice shape. The front is in very nice condition. The finish is a very fine red sparkle.
It's a fantastic player, with a super neck. The truss rod works great. A little fret wear, but not bad. Its excellent playability is enhanced by the following upgrades:
DiMarzio "Area J" split-coil noiseless pickups ($130.00)
CTS 250K pots (neck volume has push-pull series/parallel switch), Orange Drop .047uf tone capacitor, Switchcraft jack, USA control plate, knurled knobs ($85.00)
The series/parallel switch adds a big lower-mid boost with a pull of the neck volume knob - great for solos or when you need to put a little more meat on the table. The Area J pickups are an outstanding upgrade over the stock pups. They are split-coil humbuckers, which allow you to blend pickup levels without introducing the annoying hum you get with stock jazz bass pickups.
Includes a nice padded Fender gig bag.
