For your consideration I offer this Intermediate clarinet in the key of B-flat by Evette & Schaeffer, for Buffet Crampon. This model later became the E11, one of the best intermediate clarinets ever made. Grenadilla (blackwood) throughout. Serial # B8229 dates production to about the mid-1950s.
CONDITION: This instrument is in good physical condition. I see no cracks or other damage. However, it will need a complete keys-off overhaul and repad, which I will leave to the new owner, thus the reduced price. It is sold AS-IS, with no warrantees. See pictures.
PLAYING QUALITIES: I have not tried to play it, because it needs a complete overhaul and repad. NOTE that I make no representations made about its suitability for your intended use. WYSIWYG.
ACCESSORIES: Original case, Selmer "HS**" mouthpiece w/ ligature & cover; lyre, and some reeds. See pictures; WYSIWYG.
THE STRAIGHT DOPE: This Evette & Schaeffer/Buffet clarinet has the potential to be a fine instrument for an advancing student or recreational player, with the investment of a keys-off overhaul. The equivalent instrument new will cost you over $1,500 at major retailers. Even after the overhaul it'll cost you less than 1/2 of that! All sales FINAL unless I determine that I significantly misrepresented it. I'll be happy to answer any questions about the instrument itself. Sold by professional musician. CASH sale, in person, preferred, but I will accept PayPal with a 4% upcharge on the total and ship this instrument at cost WITHIN THE CONTINENTAL 48 UNITED STATES ONLY. I DO NOT reply to "Is this still available?" If the post is up, it's available. Because of the high number of scammers, email via Craigslist relay ONLY; I will reply to serious inquiries with my phone number and email address.
ATTENTION SCAMMERS: I've seen it all. NO bank drafts; NO "agents"; NO meeting you at some parking lot; NO text messages; NO blind gee mail addresses. I may have been born at night, but not LAST NIGHT.
All you nice honest folks out there in Craigslistland, please contact me if you have an interest in this instrument. I'll be glad to email/text more pics and details. Thanks for looking!
