We are a veteran-owned construction company based in Syracuse, NY, specializing in delivering top-notch construction services across New York State. With a rapidly expanding fleet of Western Star Tri-Axle Dump Trucks and excavation heavy equipment, we’re looking for a skilled Diesel Truck Mechanic to join our team and help keep our operations running smoothly.
Position Overview:
As a Diesel Mechanic Shop Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of Western Star tri-axle dump trucks and a variety of heavy construction equipment. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your expertise will directly impact the success of our projects. Currently we are looking for someone who would work weekends and maybe a few days during the week, as our trucks are running constantly all week long.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regular maintenance and repairs on Western Star Tri-Axle Dump Trucks and excavation heavy equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Conduct inspections to ensure equipment compliance with safety and operational standards.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
Collaborate with operators and management to schedule and prioritize repairs.
Assist in ordering and managing inventory of parts and supplies.
Make Office Maintenance Repairs
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with heavy trucks and construction equipment.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
Familiarity with Western Star trucks and related equipment is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Valid CDL A driver's license.
Commitment to workplace safety and professionalism.
